I think #arxiv 's #policy on #chatgpt #generated #content is the #correct approach: https://blog.arxiv.org/2023/01/31/arxiv-.. Those who put their #name on the #paper will be #reponsible for the #contents - no matter how it was #generated .

Looks like #apple M2 #silicon is #vulnerable to a highh dimension #speculative #vector #attack https://arxiv.org/pdf/2302.01131.pdf The #paper suggests it is completely #impossible to #patch too... I would love to see somebody run the #code in the #paper to test it!

Pretty insane that #thousands of #scientists #publish a #paper every five days: https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-0.. *That would be 73 #papers a year!* Apparently they are reaching this level of #productivity by working in large #team or managing lots of people. Still, if you did nothing but read papers, this would be quite a lot of work!

Interesting #discussion on #agent #curiosity and #exploration https://www.deepmind.com/blog/is-curiosi.. The #article is based on the same-named #paper https://arxiv.org/abs/2109.08603

Apparently #famous #scientists are more likely to get #published for the same #paper #submission https://www.science.org/content/article/.. Apparently there is also some #race based #bias possible too. I know in #asia for example #white people are thought of as much more #clever .

Pretty #impressive #build for a #toilet #paper #tracker https://hackaday.com/2022/02/03/keep-tra.. #youtube #video is #amusing too!

Pretty jealous of the M5 #paper #eink #display #iot #device based on the #esp 32 https://hackaday.com/2021/11/12/m5paper-.. Here they are using it as a pretty sleek #weather #monitor ! It's just really well made.

A #journal #paper I had been working on for a while did reasonably well in the #review process, so now to make the changes and #submit a final version for my #phd . This is actually really quite nice to finally be making some #progress after quite some time.

This #eink business appears to be getting real nice, especially with the ability to #sketch like some advanced #paper https://www.bit-101.com/blog/2021/10/ske.. The #wacom #layer appears to be where it's at too, a #technology that #pine 's #pinenote went with too.

I want to grab a #nap - but I know my #phone #alarm does not work correctly and cannot be relied upon. For some reason my #android #smartphone believes it should not go off between the hours of #midnight and 6am or so. I think it's the same mechanism that also pauses #youtube #notifications , etc, but it's super annoying that it #ignores an alarm *I* set. I'm not setting it for no reason. Anyway, for this reason I cannot grab a little #sleep ... Instead I drink even more #coffee ... Pushing for 9am!
Screw it, I will give it a shot. I am currently processing the #relatedwork #section of the #journal #paper and there just isn't enough left in the tank to #parse it. Fingers crossed the freaking alarm works.

In an update I did to the #coffeespace #css the other day, it now has better #print output attempting #twocolumns - which looks nicer and saves on #ink and #paper !

Okay, this is cool: https://retrohacker.substack.com/p/bye-c.. You can apparently #print on port 9100 just by #piping files via #netcat - *without* the need for #cups ! I am trying to get this working now. I only stopped printing because I couldn't get the #refill to work and didn't want to spend more money on a $20 printer...
No idea why, but my original attempt to bring the #printer alive failed - but this time I seem to have succeeded? The #head #alignment is insanely out, but the print quality is actually acceptable. I was under the impression I was previously locked out by #cartridge #drm - so I'm glad it now finally works. I will need to purchase some printer #paper now!

Sometimes you have a #shower #idea so good, you have to stop your shower just to write it down. This was one of those times. Two things I have been thinking about for a while just came together in my mind in an exciting way. If my hunch is correct, which I believe it is, it could mean *very* big things and an exceptional #paper ... I looked only and I could find zero #existingwork in this area... This could be quite a big idea if my hunch turns out to be correct.

Ouch, a #journal accidentally #published a #paper 'proving' P=NP https://twitter.com/danluu/status/141721.. Oops!
