Super #weird #error in #debian just now, it completely #refused to #detect #usb #ports even after #resetting them in the #kernel #modules . For me, #linux has always had #issues with #usb compared to other #os '.
Very cool #debian #linux " #factory ", where you can #build #custom #linux #distributions with some simple #script https://gitlab.com/risserlabs/community/.. This is something that really tickles me, but unfortunately I know I will never get time for such a task.
#debian appear to be one of the #brave #linux #distributions to remove #python 2 and #support only #python 3: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugrepor..
*Note to self:* The #coffeespace #server running on #debian 8 was sneakily pre-loaded with a bunch of #ufw #firewall #rules that block access from different ports! It is possible to enable them manually though: https://unixcop.com/how-to-open-ports-in.. What a waste of an hour that was - me thinking I had done something wrong!

I have no idea what was causing it, I believe it might be because the #debian #os is so old! As I mentioned in a recent #article #servermigration - the new one is really #lowend https://coffeespace.org.uk/projects/serv.. Now that #ffmpeg isn't always running, I've claimed back approximately 0MB of #ram ! Hmmm... Running `ps aux` I can see that #java is using a decent chunk...Nope, definitely keeps restarting the build process... Interesting. Does it for the #coffeespace #build #script but not the #deadsocial build script, despite them being identical... One endlessly builds, the other does not. Very weird.
Interesting, I also had thought previously about using a #raspberrypi running #openwrt - or even just #debian #linux as a #router https://cheapskatesguide.org/articles/ra.. Seems to be working quite well. It's really impressive that #openwrt will run on as low as 8MB of disk space and 32MB of RAM!
Very cool, #debian seems to be adding #arch 's #pkgbuild #packagemanager https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2021/06/th.. This should bring *very* up-to-date packages to the #os - looking forward to seeing how it goes!
Looks like the #cinnamon #windowmanager has no more #maintainers in #debian https://www.preining.info/blog/2021/06/f.. It's quite nice and still has active development, just nobody to maintain the Debian version: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinnamon_(..
