Pretty cool #article on #computing #platonic #solids https://www.danielsieger.com/blog/2021/0..
Pretty interesting. The #cpu #speculative #computing that #intel and #amd had *massive* #security #issues with recently seems to be #redundant with some better #designed #cpu #architecture that better handles some #edgecases https://www.cs.cmu.edu/afs/cs/academic/c.. This could be a way forward for both #companies , and potentially something for #arm to look at!
Oh wow, #intel have been found with *another* #cpu #security #issue - this time one they can't #mitigate https://www.hertzbleed.com/ Apparently it works by purposefully causing your #cpu to #scale and increase the #clock to meet the #computing #demand . #intel #blocked the release of this #vulnerability .
An insanely cool #project called #pockit https://youtube.com/watch?v=b3F9OtH2Xx4 Probably the most ultimate form of #modular #computing !
#ibm #eagle has 127 #qubits for their #quantum #computing ! https://hackaday.com/2022/02/08/ibm-eagl.. Apparently they believe they have a path to over 1000 #qubits using a 3D #package ... #encryption better watch out!
Apparently " #hackers " are #stealing #encrypted #data in #preparation for #quantum #computing https://www.technologyreview.com/2021/11.. We'll see how this goes in the future...
#dendritic #computing is why we will not *fully* #simulate a #human #brain for quite some time: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/ar.. We will have to settle for #approximations well into the near future.
A sad day for the world of #computing to see #clivesinclair #dead - who #invented early #affordable #calculators and #computers https://aardvark.co.nz/daily/2021/0917.s..
Whilst I agree with #st that #ar #glasses are for sure a future #computing #platform - it might still be too early: https://www.eetimes.eu/st-sees-ar-glasse.. #vr for example got #reinvented *several times* before #technology caught up. What I want to see is ST put an #opensource platform in the hands of #hackers - see what #innovation is created and then #commercialize it.
Huh, I need to find out more about the #transputer https://hackaday.com/2021/08/05/raspberr.. I've wanted to build a system for #distributed #computing for a while now, but haven't even had close to the time required to actually pull it off.
I always like to see the #backblaze #harddrive #stats on #failures https://www.backblaze.com/blog/backblaze.. This is a massive credit to the #computing #community - excellent work.
