Okay, I want one: https://shop.simulavr.com/ #simulavr is an #ar / #vr #headset for using #linux on the go: https://shop.simulavr.com/ I have wanted such a thing for a long time! Hopefully it doesn't cause eye/head strain! It's a little too expensive for now, but looking forward to #cheaper #alternatives !
Man now *this* is exciting: https://www.simulavr.com/ #vr based #linux #desktop ! Sign me up already! The price for #secondhand #vr #headsets is pretty reasonable too! This could definitely be viable!

It was about the main #character learning to deal with his personal issues in the context of #vr - I guess many people who #enjoy #gaming also like to play as someone other than themselves. Definitely worth a #watch !Currently #watching a new #anime called #fulldive ... Not so bad four #episodes in!
From what I understand so far, I believe #facebook are building the ' #metaverse ' to build a #monopoly #internet that is under the control of #markzuckerberg - specifically for all #vr applications: https://www.johncoogan.com/facebook-vr/ I suspect they have been looking at #roblox and their #marketplace with great #jealousy - and are now looking to build out their own #competitor using their #domination with #vr #technology thanks to their #acquisition of #oculus ...
Well, this is super interesting, #vr / #ar for the #linux #desktop https://simulavr.com/ If the asking #price is reasonable then I want one, but somehow I doubt it.
Seems like #vr #tracking is getting even #cheaper - using just a #vga #camera and some #printed #markers ! https://github.com/ju1ce/April-Tag-VR-Fu..
Very good #article and #video on how *not* to #build your own #ar https://hackaday.com/2021/08/19/why-you-.. I would personally like to see a " #vr " setup with a #camera that does the #passthrough to the #display - this would ultimately solve the #optics problem. For AR to 'interact' with the real world anyway, you're going to want a camera to do processing.
I *really* want #opensource #ar and #vr #glasses https://hackaday.com/2021/08/14/3d-print.. I just really don't want to do the #assembly - it's a lot of effort and difficult to get right.
Whilst I agree with #st that #ar #glasses are for sure a future #computing #platform - it might still be too early: https://www.eetimes.eu/st-sees-ar-glasse.. #vr for example got #reinvented *several times* before #technology caught up. What I want to see is ST put an #opensource platform in the hands of #hackers - see what #innovation is created and then #commercialize it.
