This is a cool #project that #converts #rss #feed to #imap , meaning that you can #sync #rss across multiple #devices https://github.com/Necoro/feed2imap-go I am really quite interested in giving this a go...
I *really* want to see #rss get into the #mainstream https://www.niemanlab.org/2022/12/this-i.. I still believe it needs to handle two problems: 1. #redistribution checking (content #hash ) and 2. #comments . #comments could be handled via #email but ideally #rss itself woudl handle this. Anyway, I still want to see #deadsocial based on #rss and completely #distributed .
What a pain in the arse it is these days to get an #rss #feed for a #youtube #channel so that you can actually consume the #content you want to see, rather than the #dumb #notifications #system they have which is always #deleting stuff.
Great #discussion about #rss #feed #host #bestpractices https://kevincox.ca/2022/05/06/rss-feed-..
#peertube need to #fix their #rss #feeds - I get a #torrent link for example: https://diode.zone/static/torrents/e82e9.. But it's neither a #valid #torrent or even a valid #url ... What the hell? #peertube is just a little too "move fast and break things" for my liking...
A great #article by #lukesmith on using #rss to replace #social #media https://lukesmith.xyz/blog/a-guide-to-us.. I'm very much in favour of this.
The #coffeespace #article #build checker seems to be stuck in an infinite loop - I noticed I kept getting #rss updates but didn't put it together in my mind. Looking at the #bash #script though and I cannot find the reason why... #ffmpeg just keeps spinning up occasionally? Either that or it's taking so bloody long to complete...
This is getting towards the #idea I had for #deadsocial - but still not quite there: https://www.evalrss.com/ People are getting close to #rss based #socialmedia though, won't be too long now!

I really suspect that other people will also be put off by this #exclusive #platform and others like me miss the #rss #feed - one of the fundamental ideas to a Podcast!I wanted to checkout a #joerogan #podcast #episode on #spotify - but I can't get that #cancer of a #website to actually work. It was a podcast on #lexfridman - the chap that does #ai podcasts himself: https://open.spotify.com/episode/0DsunsN.. It turns out that Spotify have been secretly working on killing the humble #rss #feed and forcing users to sign-up to their #service - killing everything that was ever good about a podcast in the first place.
Very nice selection of #podcast #rss #feed #readers I would need to compete with if I decided to roll my own: https://odysee.com/@gamey:c/podcasts-on-.. On a different note, I had no idea #odysee now do #blogs !
Further attacks by #google on #rss #feeds https://www.theregister.com/2021/08/16/g.. Apparently #googlegroups no longer supports it. I suspect this systematic disappearance of RSS by Google services is entirely on purpose, as it allows people to scrape content without interacting with their #darkpattern #ui ...
I like the idea of having #papers read out to me using #texttospeech https://papertime.app/ It's a little rough around the edges, but really not bad! I am actually thinking this could be great for a new #rss #feed #reader to convert #text to #audio !
I should really get around to #opensource 'ing my #thunderbird #rss recovery program - it's a piece of crap #hack - but it seems like many people have suffered the same issue and just given up.
Regarding a new #rss #feed #reader to replace #akregator - one of the features I wish they all have is to parse #html (basically a different #xml format) - most #websites that have an RSS button also offer a list of content somewhere, it should be entirely possible to process... I actually don't want a content preview - I just want to know what links are new for the most part.

I can see each one of the #rss #feeds being loaded! I hope it is much faster once fully loaded...#akregator #ram abuse definitely confirmed: https://coffeespace.org.uk/projects/akre.. Next step is to run it using #valgrind and to find out exactly what is actually getting leaked. I'll continue to monitor the RAM too and make sure at least that part is repeatable.
