Just finishing #watching #netflix 's 2017 #deathnote , and it really doesn't do the #original #anime any #justice at all. The #original #anime was like a game of #chess being played out by #kira and L, but they completely #fail to capture this. It really should have been a #tv #series . It's really amazing that they messed up such a deep and interesting #ip .

That said, it is still a good #tv #series . #timburten 's hand is very clear in this, it's very well #produced and the #story is good. It reminds me of #lemonysnicket 's #aseriesofunfortunateevents (something I wish they would get the courage to actually finish).
