Turns out if you are seeing #scans from the #ip range 18.171.7.246 or 35.177.10.231, the it could be the #uk #government https://lowendbox.com/blog/getting-scans.. Whilst I like the #uk #government being more #proactive in #syber #security , it feels that #politics will lead to this also being used to #exploit #vulnerable #servers too. The #temptation will be too much for these people, knowing they could gain access to important services.
I wish #elonmusk would just #shutup sometimes: https://www.zerohedge.com/political/musk.. This is clearly #elonmusk supporting #china 's #ccp as he has interests there with his #tesla #business . The #irony is they are stealing his #ip in favour of #chinese #ev 's. #taiwan 's #freedom is worth more than his #profits .
Wow, #intel and #stealing the #ip of #amd in their #latest #patent https://twitter.com/Underfox3/status/151.. It's #undeniable when you #compare the #diagrams ... How insane it was ever granted. The #patent system is completely screwed.
Interesting, #apple have #abused the #dmca #takedown #notice to #block the sharing of a #ip v4 #address that #leaks #internal #documents - despite the fact the #security #researchers were trying to #warn them of the #leak ! https://twitter.com/RayRedacted/status/1.. And this is why we can't have nice things.
#elonmusk has no choice but to #bendover and take whatever the #chinese give him, as they #steal his #ip and take 50% ownership of his #china based #tesla #company https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/musk-p.. I'll build my own #ev thanks.
Not sure I like the #optics here with #protonmail onboarding #timbernerslee , the creator of the modern #internet https://protonmail.com/blog/sir-tim-bern.. I think they should have at least delayed this after the recent #ip #address sharing with #police drama... Tim Berners-Lee is known to have a few bad ideas about the future trajectory of the internet, the person who creates something isn't always the right person to steer it.

Their #response is pretty reasonable, they essentially say they are bound by #swiss #law and they give a way to #bypass #ip #logging by using a #tor #onion service...Looks like #protonmail may not be so #secure and #private after sharing the #ip #address of #protestors in #france #paris https://twitter.com/tenacioustek/status/..

Great resource for setting up your own #webserver https://landchad.net/index.html Specifically interesting to me is #ufw https://landchad.net/ufw.html This is something I've not yet setup for my #server for the simple reason of not understanding it. That said I have figured out how to #ban #ip addresses for example, and have various methods for blocking attacks.
