Never knew that people were now making #opensource #sex #toys https://www.billieruben.info/post/3d-pri.. Glad to see people *cough* owning the #devices they use... Seriously though, with so many toys out there relying on #iot and having #scary #sideeffects - especially with #security - it's great that people have #opensource #alternatives ...
Looks like #microsoft #windows is now pushing 11, the #version that will see many existing #devices suddenly unable to operate: https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperie.. Looking forward to the new #linux surge!
Awesome work on I2C and #spi operating multiple #devices in #space on a #robust #network https://hackaday.com/2021/09/29/robust-i.. I also heard the use of #usb and the like in space too. Great work.
Okay, this is highly #cool https://github.com/cesanta/elk It allows #js to be run on #embedded #devices - super awesome! This could make a great base for a #small #os !
I have a similar story to this #tech guy who refused to support his family's non- #linux #devices http://misc-stuff.terraaeon.com/articles.. A while back I was pleasantly #surprised to see my #family 's #desktop #windows running #libreoffice ! I said "awesome, you are supporting #opensource #software !", to which they replied "I don't know, you installed it on there!" - I had forgotten! But they continued to keep using it, even calling it " #office "!
I really like the idea of #opensource #ereader #devices https://hackaday.com/2021/08/20/inkplate.. Man I really want one of #pine 's #pinenote devices! It's such a shame they cost so much...
The #tpm #module that the new #windows 11 requires that you have seems like a super pain in the arse: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RW2zHvVO.. It essentially moves the #encryption problem around and I believe will just result to making #laptops and other #portable #devices be more #closedsource ... For example, tricking the #tpm into thinking it is running on a specific #configuration just moves the #goalposts towards #stateactors to hack into machines. A better solution is still required.
