Apparently #valorant uses the #windows 11 #tpm ( #trusted #platform #module ) as an anti- #cheat https://www.techspot.com/news/91138-valo.. This doesn't bode well for #opensource #gaming - even using #software on old #hardware ... I imagine even some #programs will begin to use this " #feature ". Damn.
The #tpm #module that the new #windows 11 requires that you have seems like a super pain in the arse: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RW2zHvVO.. It essentially moves the #encryption problem around and I believe will just result to making #laptops and other #portable #devices be more #closedsource ... For example, tricking the #tpm into thinking it is running on a specific #configuration just moves the #goalposts towards #stateactors to hack into machines. A better solution is still required.
