Spent some time setting up #dnsmasq for my #local #desktop - turns out that it was #bypassing the #dns #cache with `no-resolv`: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Dnsmas.. Seems to be worth it so far, should massively reduce #traffic !

Very interesting, it appears that #cloudflare 's #dns can fail to resolve #archive #website #service https://archive.is due to a lack of #edns https://jarv.is/notes/cloudflare-dns-arc.. It's really not easy to figure out who is in the right or wrong here, I kind of respect the opinion of both sides.

Yeah, I'm not entirely sold on using a #vpn for 'security' - I think they are a major #security #risk ... You have the #logs , the #dns redirection problem, the multiple #isp issue and many other things. We still need a better solution to this problem.
