The #intel #spectre mitigations for their crappy #cpu design are causing all sorts of optimization problems: https://robert.ocallahan.org/2021/06/spe.. The 'solution' is to execute *more* instructions in #userspace as there is a serious cost for each #systemcall ! Intel are really being punished for this now thought, as I posted recently #amd is eating their lunch because of this.
