Anybody who has used #linux 's #traceroute for #network #debugging knows how slow it can get... It looks like #openbsd are fixing this by utilizing #async #dns communications: http://undeadly.org/cgi?action=article;s.. I really do need to look into #bsd at some point, it could be interesting.
Been having massive issues with #internet today, not sure if my #laptop is giving up the ghost or it's a #network issue. #bluetooth for example, which is likely the same #module - keeps cutting off randomly. I really need to hurry up and build this new #laptop replacement.
Ouch, seems quite 'easy' for a #hacker to gain access to a company #network if they are so inclined with the use of a #stolen #laptop https://dolosgroup.io/blog/2021/7/9/from.. Apparently the most effective defence against this is an #encrypted #drive ... More needs to be done in general to defend against such attacks, but #governments seem to be entirely against #encryption for exactly the reason that it makes these devices harder to #hack !
Random #brainfart : The current state of #neuralnetworks is completely #inaccurate for how #neurons actually operate. We should rename them to 'neuron-inspired networks' (NIN). One of the largest issues for me is that each neuron's affect on the processing of information is *overweighted* - i.e. there is no local #spatial #redundancy built into the #network structure. I'm not devaluing the field (it clearly produces results) and I'm not suggesting there is a better approach, just that it's not there yet.
Man #atandt sound awful out in the #us https://benergize.com/2021/07/16/were-sh.. They are shutting down their 3G #mobile #network and shafting their long-term customers in the process. They offer a 'free' 'similar spec' #phone as a replacement device, but it doesn't even come close. Take your money elsewhere!
Seems like the #matrix #network is under active attack: https://matrix.org/blog/2021/06/30/secur.. This is *always* the problem with distributed services.
Would you look at that - the #mobile #phone 's #network was purposely made weak through its #cryptography https://www.vice.com/en/article/4avnan/b.. Imagine my surprise. Backdoors are made every day.

Apparently it knocked out 85% of their #network - knocking services like the #bbc offline. Timeline here: https://www.fastly.com/blog/summary-of-j..Ouch, apparently the #server #cloud #host #fastly killed a tonne of major websites with a #outage https://www.lotuseaters.com/mass-outages.. Strange also to see exactly which websites are hosted by the same company... Seems very left-wing by nature. Perhaps its a coincidence. A reporter should scratch that itch though.
