Interesting that #arduino are #releasing the #nicla #voice #module for #speech #recognition https://mosfet.net/arduino-releases-the-.. Expect to see many #projects based on this really soon!

A #friend approached me a while back about starting a #podcast on #robotics , and I really like the #idea . The only problem is I really #hate my #voice and I am terrible at #talking . I'm sure the right person exists out there to really make it happen, but I #suspect it is not me.

The #anime #absoluteduo had #potential , but I think the #overt #fanservice meant that it wouldn't be able to work in modern times. The #music was surprisingly good in places, and the #voice #actors were actually not bad at all.

Okay, new #episodes of #futurama are being created over on #hulu ! https://news.yahoo.com/why-original-futu.. Apparently it will be minus a few #key #actors , including the #voice behind #bender ... If it's even half the #tv #show it was, we're in for a treat!

Interesting - apparently #ethopia is likely to have another #internet #shutdown pretty soon and people are asking about how to #maintain some form of #internet #connection https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=291.. Apparently it is very much still possible to perform #dialup over a #voice #call with a very low #bitrate ... That #bitrate is also #comparable to #lora - just saying. One could imagine a stripped out #mesh for small #internet #messages ... Like #lorachan for example ...

Interesting #audio #encoding concept getting barely #audible #voice down to 450 bits/second: https://www.rowetel.com/?p=6212 The proposal is that this could potentially be used for #lora #realtime #communication over very #lowbandwidth channels.

Awesome use of #lora to perform #mesh #voice #communication https://hackaday.com/2021/06/06/qmesh-lo.. Seems like the trick to reducing network traffic here was a predictive mesh routing protocol. I think that voice compression is another potential trick to reduce bandwidth...
