Interesting #concept for a #cigarette making #machine https://hackaday.com/2022/11/20/see-the-.. Of course, we have since a very long time had a #tin that could make near perfect #cigarettes one at a time: https://youtube.com/watch?v=nTVZNpEOlTU Not that I encourage #smoking , but the machine seems #overengineered .
The most #beautiful #machine to never exist: https://nitter.1d4.us/pic/orig/media%2FF.. A #ibm #thinkpad #notebook in this #formfactor would have been simply the best thing ever. Imagine also having swappable #bays on it too... This is simply too sexy. I would load the base with #battery and put most the #brains in the top part with small #daughter #boards in the base to extend #io , maybe only down once side to maximize #battery space.
#sqlite apparently has a #virtual #machine #embedded within it called #vdbe or #virtual #database #engine https://medium.com/@JasonWyatt/squeezing.. Also I see some #performance numbers that appear to indicate that #udatabase is significantly faster than #sqlite for an #insertion https://medium.com/hackernoon/squeezing-.. Very cool!

Reducing #memory usage helped slightly, but it appears to really be eating system resources: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fir.. I think I need a #youtube #alternative !#laptop is screeching to a halt right now - out of #ram and #cpu ... Desperately need a new #machine , this one is really on its last legs during these days.

#upgraded my #ubuntu #machine earlier, mostly went well. One thing that did go wrong was #virtualbox was unable to install the #extensionpack (but I was able to correct this post #install ) and then #vlc #corrupted its settings, so I had to #reset the #preferences ... Anyway, there is always *some* kind of #issue in these things, but at least I was actually able to #boot my #machine this time.
