A small, lightweight, Java-based alternative to Twitter.

The idea is to produce a super-lightweight, minimal social media network that could be hosted for a small group of people. The project has zero dependencies other than Java primitives. Some features include:

• Basic user login and associated security
• Cached dynamically generated content
• RSS feeds for updates
• Database consists of a collection of JSON files

The goal is to be able to handle 1000 users per second and to survive a hug-of-death from any given website. Future functionality will include:

• Small images to accompany posts
• Hash tags and mentions of other users
• Import RSS feeds to generate site content
• Feedback on post (such as a ‘like’)
