Observations

An observation in this context is a 64x64 pixel image that observes an important 1 event, holiday or generally something of importance. The lack of observation is not an indication of a lack of importance. Below are the meanings behind the observations.

Raise The Colours (04/09/2025 - now)

Operation Raise The Colours is grass roots movement to promote patriotism. Far-left campaign groups then claimed that flying the nation’s flag is actually racist, which provided an incentive to fly them more prominently. For a long time the flags of Palestine, Ukraine, Pakistan, India, etc, have been flown over government buildings and private dwellings without issue. Upon seeing the nations flags, local governments took it upon themselves to remove them. The movement mostly seems to represent the will of the people not being represented in mainstream politics, enraged further by the Home Office arguing (and winning) on the basis that newly arrived illegal migrants claiming asylum have greater rights than local British peoples.

Self Investment (20/11/2022 - 04/09/2025)

The two of spades is a nod to my great grandfather, who liked to play ‘Egyptian rummy’, a version of the rummy game where all two’s are a wild-card for anything. My great grandfather was an inspiring character and for now I would like to spend some time acting in a way that he would be proud of. This is a reminder to act in a way that inspires others.

Queen’s Passing (08/09/2022 - 20/11/2022)

This is an observation of the Queen’s passing.

Ukraine (03/03/2022 - 08/09/2022)

This observation is in support of the Ukrainian people who are currently under attack by Russian forces 2. Irrespective of the validity of claims made by Russia’s President Putin against Ukraine, UN, NATO and EU involvement in Russia’s security, invasion of Ukraine is clearly not morally justifiable, especially as diplomatic options still exist. War should not be used as a tool for diplomacy.
