Would you look at that, #solarpanells in the #uk don't work, as the largest #solar #company #toucanenergy in the #uk has gone bust: https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/one-en.. Who #funded this bullshit? #thurrock #council , which is the #taxpayer . Even after #selling #assets , the #taxpayer is set to lose 200 #million #pounds . We keep getting told #renewables are #profitable though... *This was with #subsidies .*

#wind #energy on a #roof is looking better than #solar , and #cheaper https://www.pv-magazine.com/2022/10/17/r.. This #company may not be #legit though given the actions of their #ceo . That said, I believe that #wind #turbines are the single #easiest and #cheapest way a single person could #generate #electric almost anywhere in the world.

I really love this #solar #flight #project https://hackaday.com/2022/09/27/24-hours.. Would be interesting to see if something similar could be done in the #uk ? #flight #restrictions kind of suck though...

Nice #discussion about running a #laptop #server from #solar #power https://medium.com/@timothy_downs/how-ma..

Well, this is ridiculously cool: https://eandt.theiet.org/content/article.. #airbus have successfully #flown a #plane via #solar #power for *weeks* without #landing ! #airbus are even suggesting #zephyr could #fly for #months at a time! Insanity!

Huh, some old #solarpanel #technology #invented by #georgecove may be the way forwards: https://www.lowtechmagazine.com/2021/10/.. Would be awesome if it is! Apparently these #panels are a lot more easy to #recycle - something that current #solar #installations fail at!

Seems like the #emdrive is for sure not producing any #thrust in this #replication #study https://link.springer.com/article/10.100.. It's a shame, but at least we can begin to look at other methods now. I expect that something between this and a #solarsail could be explored in the future... Perhaps a material that #reflects #solar #radiation in one direction and is #transparent in the other.

Awesome, #solar powered #plant rotator: https://hackaday.com/2021/07/12/revolvin.. Could make for an interesting project on day.

I love these #solar planes, I would love to work on such a project: https://hackaday.com/2021/05/29/solar-pl.. Would be interesting to see if such a thing could be scaled.
