Jesus those new #ads on #wikipedia are #awful - they take up the majority of the #website and #spam you for #money - *THEY DON'T EVEN NEED.* A really poor move by #wikipedia , especially during this time. They have enough #funding to easily last for 10 years, and they choose one of the worst #recessions on record to #beg .
The #hindu #diwali #festival of #light is all good and well, but people are now letting off #fireworks *after* #midnight , *for an entire week.* This is not reasonable behaviour. Yep, #wikipedia is nothing but a #propaganda machine these days: https://www.lotuseaters.com/wikipedia-co.. I've read some articles on high profile figures that have been biased as hell. Fundamentally, information is not without bias. It can be frame and people who write articles do this regularly.
This is ultimately the problem with #wikipedia - that it will almost *always* be unable to escape some form of #bias https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Croatian.. I still think it is valuable as a resource, but it's not without issue.
Interesting, the #wmf -the larger organization behind #wikipedia is asking for #donations despite being very rich already: https://www.dailydot.com/debug/wikipedia.. There doesn't appear to be a good excuse for it either... They have currently enough money to run easily for 20 years, if not more.
