Well damn, apparently you can get an old #commodore #pet to #play #youtube #videos (with some help): https://hackaday.com/2022/07/01/blixterm.. Very impressive #engineering here!

So, apparently #twofactor #authentication , not only has allowed #youtube #creators to be #hacked by #social #engineering their #phonenumber from #providers , not only has it #locked people out of their #accounts because they lost their #phone , but now it also allows people to be #tracked ! https://politictech.wordpress.com/2022/0.. And this isn't to mention the number of people who *don't* have a #smartphone !

Very nice #rubiks #cube #solver https://hackaday.com/2022/02/02/forget-s.. It's very simple but #robust #engineering !

Interesting, #google is apparently mostly running on #old #code that none of the existing people know how to #fix or #maintain https://youtube.com/watch?v=7I-r1CaMdNs If this is true, #google is going to die. They no longer have the #engineering #prowess they used to - all the proper #engineers moved elsewhere. It seems they are #victims of their own " #success ".

Okay, I never realised how #frequency doubling worked before, but now I realise it's pretty impressive #engineering https://hackaday.com/2021/10/18/a-microw..

An insight into what an #engineering #manager gets up to - mostly #meetings https://parkjoon.medium.com/what-does-my.. As people in some other #comments pointed out, the best way to increase #productivity is to get out of #meetings ! I remember I used to have two #displays at my old #engineering #job and would just be #programming during these #video #calls to #india and the like. They were mostly an utter waste of my time.

#dam #collapses seem to be happening a lot recently, as #maintenance was already a problem and #covid just pushed this problem to become even worse: https://www.zerohedge.com/technology/ign.. This will only become a larger problem in the future. These are not #temporary #oneoff #engineering #projects - building something like a #dam is a problem that will have to he addressed #infinitely into the future.
