I *really* want to see #rss get into the #mainstream https://www.niemanlab.org/2022/12/this-i.. I still believe it needs to handle two problems: 1. #redistribution checking (content #hash ) and 2. #comments . #comments could be handled via #email but ideally #rss itself woudl handle this. Anyway, I still want to see #deadsocial based on #rss and completely #distributed .

Something is going on with #gitea https://gitea-open-letter.coding.social/ But looking at the #comments , it is unclear exactly what: https://lobste.rs/s/wp5nnh/open_letter_g.. I don't understand why a for- #profit has been made to hold the #trademark stuff, whilst a non- #profit could have done the same? Seems a little #suspicious .

So apparently there is now #violence for #hire for relatively low amounts of #money https://krebsonsecurity.com/2022/09/viol.. The #comments are interesting on #krebsonsecurity , with the majority being " #free #patt ", the name of the person #arrested in connection to the #video #evidence .

Kind of #annoying , this #project on #hackaday got #featured simply for being #trans , rather than being a #noteworthy #hack https://hackaday.com/2022/09/03/pretty-p.. As I #commented , the #wiring is #dangerous and could cause a #short . It could quite literally #burn down their #office ...
Also was #watching the #comments on this #article get #blocked and #unblocked , sees like there is some #political #influence here: https://hackaday.com/2022/09/03/pretty-p.. Not much #healthy #interaction here either. I really suggest that #hackaday and the #author #kristinapanos better vet these #articles for #political #messages ...

Very interesting #discussion about why a #pine 64 #developer #martijnbraam left the #community in a high position: https://blog.brixit.nl/why-i-left-pine64.. The #hackernews #comments are pretty interesting too: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=324..

According to #hackernews #comments , #chinese #space #rockets are falling on #civilians *all the time:* https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=322.. Apparently soon a 23 tonne random piece will land randomly, possibly in a #populated area, and they don't give a single fuck: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/j.. Insane.

Nice little #embedded #image #format named #pif https://hackaday.com/2022/05/08/creating.. As one of the #hackaday #comments suggests, #lvgl could benefit from using the format over #png !

Interesting #implementation of an #email based #comments #section https://tdarb.org/poormans-comment-syste.. Will check this out for #coffeespace ... Could be quite a #viable #alternative to #abusing #deadsocial for this #purpose !

Interesting #discussion about maximizing #ram #bandwidth https://unum.cloud/post/2022-01-29-ddr4/ As the #hackernews #comments point out, with a #amd #threadripper #cpu you need to have your code #numa aware: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=301.. This means delegating a task to a specific #core and #ram to minimize #throttling the #infinityfabric .

Looks like #youtube have completely #demonetized #naomiwu for a #sculpture of herself: https://twitter.com/RealSexyCyborg/statu.. I don't agree with all her #comments on #twitter - but I do believe this very much highlights the issues with Youtube as a #platform . For the love of god give us somewhere else to go.

Very interesting #article on how to build a #house to last for a 1000 years: https://constructionphysics.substack.com.. The #hackernews #comments are also interesting: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=298.. One important thing to #consider is having a #design worthy of your #ancestors putting in the effort to actually save. If it's #strong but #ugly - they will rip it down all the same.

Some nice #tools for #xserver http://cyber.dabamos.de/unix/x11/ The #hackernews #comments also suggest some other nice ones: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=296..

Seems like #facebook are cocking it up more, by #censoring the #british #medical #journal #bmj and their #independent #research into the #clinical #trails behind the #covid #vaccine https://www.bmj.com/content/375/bmj.n263.. Bare in mind, this is one of the #oldest and most #respected #medical #journals *in the world.* Who on earth do these #factcheckers think they are to question them? Which "higher power" are they checking their #facts with? Or is it #advertisers ...?
I made a nice comment regarding this over in the #hackernew #comments https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=295..

So #evergrande have now #defaulted https://edition.cnn.com/2021/12/09/inves.. And another one named #kasia also #defaulted https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/.. The #hackernews #comments are *very* interesting on this one: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=294.. Massive #consequences as a result!

Nice little list of basic #server #security #tasks https://sollove.com/2013/03/03/my-first-.. In all honesty I have never bothered. Also worth reading the #hackernews #comments https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=294..

This is a super cool #homebrew #image #compression #algorithm and #implementation https://phoboslab.org/log/2021/11/qoi-fa.. As the #hsckernews #comments point out, this is a really great achievement in #simplicity and #performance https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=293..
