As #scottmanley points out, it looks as if the #space #community is not happy about a recent #test the #russian #military did to de- #orbit an old #spy #satellite #explosively https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvdQcDDU.. It's still not entirely clear if the #iss #space #station is going to be okay, and it's entirely possible that the #chinese #spacestation will be affected in the future as the #orbits of the #debris #decay - damn. This was pretty reckless!
Very interesting, as I expected - it looks like some #raspberrypi 's are still going after 5 years in #space #orbit - meaning that #commercial #hardware is a lot more #robust to #radiation than was made out... https://hackaday.com/2021/09/22/astro-pi.. They are even looking to add *more* of them given the #success of the existing Raspberry Pi's.
