#memory attacks are becoming more and more of a problem: https://therecord.media/google-says-rowh.. Bare in mind that most of the modern CPU attacks are also some form of timing attack to workaround speed issues caused by shared memory access. We *really* need a better solution for this problem. The next big computer speedup will likely come from a new memory architecture that gets rid of locks entirely.
