Interesting idea I just read. In 1997, the #uk should have handed #hongkong over to the #republicofchina ( #roc in #taiwan ) rather than #china 's #ccp - in response to a #bbc article discussing #hk citizens booing at the #chinese #nationalanthem being played at the #olympics https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-chin.. Apparently some even flew the #british #colony #flag - as a result they may be #arrested and #punished under the #nationalsecurity #bill created by the CCP.

A different #translation again: https://asia.nikkei.com/Politics/Xi-vows.. Quote: "At the same time, the Chinese people will never allow any outside forces to bully, oppress or enslave us. Anyone who tries to do so will be crushed to death before the Great Wall of steel built with the flesh and blood of over 1.4 billion Chinese people". Finally an admittance that #marxism #communism requires the sacrifice of 1.4 billion people?
I missed the part where the #ccp of #china threatened to 'smash' #taiwan #independence https://www.lotuseaters.com/xi-jinping-p.. That'll be fun, looking forward to it already! Bare in mind #taiwan consists of the original #chinese government ( #roc ) who were defeated by the #communists - and maintain what little of China's history remains.
