Jesus those new #ads on #wikipedia are #awful - they take up the majority of the #website and #spam you for #money - *THEY DON'T EVEN NEED.* A really poor move by #wikipedia , especially during this time. They have enough #funding to easily last for 10 years, and they choose one of the worst #recessions on record to #beg .

The #analogy is pretty good with it being like an #email #system , where each #server is an #email #provider . You still end up getting #vendor #lockin though, like you do with #email . We need to keep looking towards better #decentralization methods.
