Sadly, most of the #pinetab #linux #os #images do not work for me at all: https://wiki.pine64.org/wiki/PineTab#Ope.. Seems to be a dead #device ...

Nice #pine #update https://www.pine64.org/2022/03/15/march-.. Looking forward to getting a #quartz #sbc #board ! And I really #regret picking the #pinetab over the #pinephone ... #infinisim is looking like an #epic #project !

Really useful #guide to #replacing the #display on a #pine #pinetab https://politictech.wordpress.com/2022/0.. This is the first #replacement of its kind within the #community I believe!

popcorncomputer 's new #pocketpc is a very cool #linuxpda with similar #hardware to #pine 's #pinebook (OG), #pinephone and #pinetab on the #arm A64: https://pocket.popcorncomputer.com/ According to #tuxphones it's quite a nice #device https://tuxphones.com/popcorn-computer-p.. The device itself is supposed to cost between $300-$400 #usd #dollars - a little too #expensive than I'm willing to pay.

Very interesting, a #linux #distribution aimed at #arm #chromebooks https://tuxphones.com/cadmium-linux-for-.. Could be worth considering for #pine 's #pinetab #device - that thing desperately needs a better #os !

The #pine #pinetab was a super pain in the arse to #setup with #wifi just now, I should have tested which #drivers needed to be #blacklisted since I blanket installed everything. My bad. Got it working now and using 'reasonable' amounts of #ram and #cpu ...

As somebody who regularly uses their #pine #pinetab - I would suggest that it is very much not a #replacement or #alternative to the #ipad https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPe8bDOp.. It's seriously underpowered in a way that isn't even funny, not a single #feature of the device is even #comparable ... It appears to be something that Pine64 may be taking seriously with the #pinenote - but it will be at least another year to see if these changes get migrated back into the PineTab.

Seems like some progress is being made in creating a #linux #pda #device using #palmos https://pmig96.wordpress.com/2021/04/29/.. The #raspberrypi 4 is insanely overpowered for this task of course. Regarding my own #linuxpda project, I believe I will look at developing on the #pine #pinetab for now as it's finally in some workable state.

Currently trying to get the #pine #pinetab up and running with a #usb #wifi #dongle ... #ubuntu isn't playing ball so far. I get nothing but issues with this device, I don't know why. I will try with my custom version of #archlinux soon.
The #pinetab finally has #wifi once again! Thanks to some #pine #community members, my random WiFi #dongle is now supported in the #arch #linux #kernel I use: https://github.com/dreemurrs-embedded/Pi.. This means that I can now use the #tablet as a #wireless device again! Looking forward to using this device in the local #library once the #lockdown becomes less strict!

Great #article by #danct 12 about how to #overclock the #pinephone and presumably the #pinetab and all A64 #arm #cpu https://danct12.github.io/PinePhone-CPU-.. Would be good to abstract this and slide a small #heatsink into the #pinetab !

Now having #networking troubles in #ubuntu ... It looks *very* similar to those seen on the #pinetab - so my thinking is to try a fresh install on there to see how it goes. 100% on my Ubuntu machine at least it's just a #software issue of some type. Fingers crossed I can bring the #wifi back to life on that glorious little #tablet

Currently looking to put either #phosh https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Phosh or #plasma https://kde.org/plasma-desktop/ on the #pinetab - so far I am edging towards Plasma due to previous positive experiences with #kde ... Fingers crossed the #wifi comes back to life too.

Looks like #pine 's new #quartz 64 #arm #cpu is finally available in the store: https://pineguild.com/the-quartz64-is-no.. Personally I need to stop spending money and I'm still pretty mad about the #pinetab killing its own #wifi doing absolutely nothing, getting zero interest from #pine ...

Nice to see the #pinetab from #pine is still getting active software development: https://pineguild.com/manjaro-arm-beta3-.. #majaro is really turning into quite a viable OS, it could be time for me to switch in the near future...
